DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

Unsigned Iowa 965 begins at US 52 approximately three miles north of Decorah and travels northwesterly to US 52 approximately four miles north of Decorah; and from another point on US 52 approximately nine miles north of Decorah and travels easterly, northerly and northwesterly to US 52 approximately 11 miles north of Decorah.

Due to transfer of jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑965‑0(2)‑‑2M‑96 between Winneshiek County and the Iowa Department of Transportation approved May 16, 1980, unsigned Iowa 965 from US 52 near the center of the NW ¼ Section 28‑T99N‑R8W northwesterly and northeasterly to US 52 in the NW ¼ Section 20‑T99N‑R8W, and from US 52 near the N ¼ Corner SW ¼ Section 25‑T100N‑R9W northeasterly, northerly and northwesterly to US 52 in the SW ¼ Section 13‑T100N‑R9W should be deleted from the primary road system and reverted to the Winneshiek County secondary road system effective July 1, 1980.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended that the description of unsigned Iowa 965 in Winneshiek County, as referred to in the attached detailed description, be deleted from the primary road system.

Remove unsigned Iowa 965 in Winneshiek County as follows:

Beginning in approximately the center of the NW ¼ of Section 28‑T99N‑R8W (junction US 52); thence northwesterly and northeasterly through Sections 28, 29, and 20 to a point in the NW ¼ of Section 2O‑T99N‑R8W (junction US 52).

Beginning again at another point approximately the N ¼ Corner of SW ¼ Section 25-T100N‑R9W (junction US 52); thence northeasterly, northerly and northwesterly through Sections 25, 24, and 13‑T100N‑R9W to a point in the SW ¼ of Section 13‑T100N‑R9W.

DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

Due to a review of our Primary Road System Records, unsigned Iowa 965 in Winneshiek County should be deleted and the new description added should be officially included into the Primary System.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended that the old description of unsigned Iowa 965 in Winneshiek County be deleted and the new description, as referred in the attached detailed description, be included in the Primary Road System effective upon the adoption of this resolution.

Locate unsigned Iowa 965 in Winneshiek County as follows:

Beginning in approximately the center of the NW ¼ of Section 28-T99N‑R8W (junction US 52); thence northwesterly and northeasterly through Sections 28, 29, and 20 to a point in the NW ¼ of Section 20‑T99N‑R8W (junction US 52).

Unsigned Iowa 965 in Winneshiek County, Iowa should be officially included in the State Primary System.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

Beginning approximately the center of the NW ¼ of Section 28-T99N-R8W (junction US 52); thence northwesterly through Sections 28, 29, and 20 to a point in the NW Corner of Section 20-T99N-R8W.

Beginning again at another point approximately the N ¼ Corner of SW ¼ Section 25-T100N-R9W northeasterly and northwesterly through Sections 25 and 24-T100N-R9W to a point in the SW Corner of Section 13-T100N-R9W.

NOW, THEREFORE: Be it resolved that the Iowa Department of Transportation approve the location of Unsigned Iowa 965 in Winneshiek County, Iowa.

NOTE: To become effective upon adoption of this resolution.
